We extend a very warm welcome to St Alkmund’s Parish Church, Duffield, within the Diocese of Derby. We are a Conservative Evangelical church with a deep longing to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, within our local parishes, our wider communities and beyond. We are committed to seeing people come to faith in Christ and to enabling Christians grow in their faith, with the Gospel at the very heart of all that we do. Our ministry is Gospel-centred, with a strong emphasis on expository Bible preaching and teaching. We believe that the Bible is God’s inerrant Word and the final authority in matters of faith and doctrine and we uphold the Thirty Nine Articles of the Church of England.
If you’re a newcomer or first-time visitor to our church, you are very welcome. If you’re looking to find out a bit more about the church: who we are, what we do, and so on just say hello, Our Welcome team on the door would love to meet you, whoever’s leading the service will usually be at the back at the end of the service, or simply speak to whoever you’re sitting with in our congregation, everyone will be more than happy to help you out.
We know it can be a bit daunting coming to a new church for the first time and we want to do all we can to make you feel at home! We look forward to getting to know you.
If you would like to discuss anything relating to Christianity or church life, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to getting to know you.

We are an Anglican Church, committed to the core doctrines of historic Anglicanism, as expressed in the creeds, the 39 articles, and the Book of Common Prayer.
We believe that we come to Jesus Christ by faith alone, trusting in Christ alone, and that the Bible is our sole authority for understanding what it means to believe in Jesus Christ. We believe in Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one God in three persons.
We believe that God created the world, that he is sovereign over all things, and that he sent his Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins that we might no longer be God’s enemies, but so that we would be reconciled to God. To repent and believe is to turn our backs on our old life of living for self and ignoring God, and to turn to Jesus Christ as saviour and Lord.
Jesus’ Lordship extends to every area of our lives, and we seek together and as individuals to live for him each day, as a response to his grace, recognising that our assurance is based not on our works but solely on trusting in his death and resurrection.
We believe that when we turn to Christ we receive the Holy Spirit, and that he works with our spirit to enable us to become the people God has called us to be. He helps us to understand God’s word, and he prepares us for Jesus’ return. Jesus Christ will come as judge of the whole universe, and will take his people to be with him in a new heaven and a new earth.
