Dear Friends
As our come and see mission events draw to a close today, we may be asking – what’s next – either in terms of other events to come to and invite people to, or in terms of an opportunity to think things through a bit more.
In terms of events, next week we will be celebrating our Harvest festival – at 10am at Duffield and 4.30pm at Little Eaton. This is a great opportunity to invite friends, and to bring gifts along, as we seek to support the homeless in our local area. Even though few of us make our living directly ‘from the land’ anymore, we still recognise the connection, and the chance to give thanks.
Every month we also have a First Sunday Special, at our evening service. this term we are thinking through some of the questions people ask about Jesus. Do join us on the 6th October as we ask whether Jesus was just a wise man from Galilee. This service is in the hall, we sit around tables, and there is an opportunity to ask questions. And plenty of tea and coffee. It provides a more informal opportunity to gather together, and to find out more about Jesus.
The essentials course begins shortly at Little Eaton – more information can be found later on in this news sheet. It is a great opportunity to think through the Christ faith. So, if that interests you, do come along.
And for those of you who have enjoyed the experience of doing small events during the mission, don’t feel that you must stop, and wait until we do another mission as a Benefice. If your small group wants to organise another event, whether that is a meal, a coffee morning or something else, then go right ahead!
Yours in Christ
