Our Benefice ‘Album Club’, which includes members from both of our churches, St Alkmund’s Duffield and our ‘sister’ church, St Paul’s Little Eaton, has been meeting since October 2024. Folk who share a joint passion for music get together once a month (usually on a Tuesday evening) to listen to an album together over a few snacks and a drink or two.
We take it in turns to host the meetings and choose the album of choice. Our only ‘rule’ is no ‘Best Of’ or ‘Greatest Hits’, and preferably an actual vinyl record, if at all possible! To give a flavour of what we listen to, previous meetings have encompassed albums by the Allman Brothers Band, Blackberry Smoke, Eagles, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Prefab Sprout, Queen, Steely Dan and the Strawbs, to name but a few!
New members are always very welcome to join. If you’d like to find out more about the Album Club, then please contact the Church Office.
