Quiet Day
On Tuesday the 22nd of September, we as a church are hosting a retreat-style quiet day at St Alkmund’s. You are very welcome to come and join for part or the whole of the day. The church itself will be set apart for silent prayer, with the church hall open for teas, coffees and lunch (not provided). The day will start with morning prayer, and there will be another two short services in the middle and at the end of the day, with communion.
This day also falls in the traditional Ember Week of the church calendar, which is historically a time of prayer, fasting and thanksgiving. This time is set apart as an invitation to pause and reflect, to seek God and his word, and to encourage one another in this pursuit with our presence and prayers.
